- Announcing KofC College Scholarships for Spring of 2025
Rules & Deadline: strict
St. Mary of Sorrows Knights of Columbus Council 8600 is pleased to announce five college scholarships for award this spring. Student applicants must be registered members of St. Mary of Sorrows Parish or St. Mary’s KofC Council 8600 or a son, daughter, grandchild, or spouse of a member of St. Mary’s KofC. Scholarships are to be used only for tuition at a post-secondary school educational institution. Previous scholarship winners are not eligible to repeat.
Four of these scholarships are funded solely by the KofC for an award of $1000. In addition, the Kelly Elizabeth Baker Memorial (KEBM) foundation is cosponsoring a fifth KofC scholarship for an award total of $1500. For this KofC-KEBM scholarship, in addition to meeting the above criteria, applicants must be graduating high school seniors.
Applications and official grade transcripts must be electronically time-stamped and shared by midnight, April 15, 2025 to be considered by the Committee. - The 2025 Application

Catherine will be attending Christendom College in the fall, where she is committed to play softball. She aspires to a career working with special needs children, ideally as an adaptive physical education specialist. |

Winner of the Joel Byrne Memorial Scholarship Thank you so much for this award! I am very honored to receive the Joel Byrne Memorial Scholarship and am grateful to the Knights of Columbus Council 8600. Cecilia will be attending Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD. She is interested in Theology and will be on the dance team. |
Katherine T. Bohli, graduating from Bishop O’Connell HS
Winner of the Kelly Elizabeth Baker Memorial scholarship Thank you so much for selecting me for this award, I am honored to have been chosen! This scholarship will help me tremendously with my studies! Katherine is excited to continue her studies next fall at Virginia Tech, studying Nutrition and Dietetics. She hopes to serve others as a registered dietitian, by helping those with health issues to improve their well-being using nutritious foods. |
