Father McGivney, established the Knights of Columbus, and with it, a “pass-the-hat” insurance system to protect the Catholic families in his parish. Over time, that system has evolved, and today we stay true to our founding mission through our multi-billion dollars, top-rated insurance program. The men in our council are no doubt at various stages of life, with varying needs and varying means. I challenge you to help spread the word of Father McGivney and how one hundred and thirty-five years ago, Father Michael J. McGivney worked to protect Catholic families. I challenge mentors to share this with your new Knights especially if they are Married.
