From: John Enzmann Sent: Saturday, March 04, 2006 3:22 PM Subject: RE: Early 18:30 K of C meeting Tues. March 7th
Jerry - I'm not certain that I can make it on time for the meeting - could you put this out by e-mail in addition to mentioning at the meeting?
St. Mary of Sorrows will be assisting St. George Methodist Church with the Hypothermia Avoidance effort in Fairfax County. We discussed this at our last meeting and agreed to provide a meal for 70 of our homeless neighbors on Saturday March 25. (The Hibernians have agreed to provide a meal and another group of women from daily mass will cover a third evening meal.) In addition our parish is responsible for providing volunteers for 3 nights Tuesday March 21, Thursday March 23, and Saturday March 25. I am the team leader for Saturday night. All 3 team leaders can use volunteers - especially for the all night monitors from 8 PM until 6 AM. (We will need 3 men and 3 women for each night. About 1/3 of the homeless are women.) Sign-up will be after the weekend masses but we will need volunteers and back-ups. Also St. George's only has about 400 families and they are filling volunteer slots for 4 nights. So if anyone who would like to volunteer but can't make St. Mary of Sorrows dates then Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday 3/26. Are available. St George is on RT 123 across from University Mall and diagonally across from GMU.
Thank You,
John Enzmann HP 703.425.1104 Cell 202.255.2463
