1. THE GRAND KNIGHT CALLED MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:03   PM.

 

            Announced an abbreviated open meeting.

 

2. MEMBERSHIP CARDS WERE not VERIFIED BY THE WARDEN

 

3. THE OPENING PRAYER WAS LEAD BY THE GN.

 

4. THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIENCE WAS LEAD BY THE WARDEN.

6. THE MINUTES WERE READ FOR LAST MEETING,    (skipped)

 

           

7. REPORT OF ADMISSION COMMITTEE:        

 

Br. Obuchowski reported on Robert E. Leary, a transfer candidate (Council 5266).

            Voted and approved.

 

8. GRAND KNIGHT’S REPORT:

GRAND KNIGHT REPORTED.

 

We had great Polish Night dinner serving 112 and grossing $1000.00

And we are going to have a great Chile Cookoff Tonight.

 

We have another opportunity to help Hurricane Relief thru our District by donating funds to help deliver Cubby Boxes for St Anthony’s Church school, Pascagoula Mississippi. 

 

Feb 28 we offered  to host a 4th degree organizing meeting here at 7:30

This is open to all 4th degree knight as an information night.  I greatly encourage you to attend whether you are for or against reorganization.

 

March 1st is Ash Wednesday and the start of Recruiting Blitz month.

Fr Barkett has given us tentative permission to have speaker at the masses provided there isn’t something special happening.  We can not do it March 11 -12 because of the Bishop saying mass here.  We would like to set up a separate manned table for recruiting at the pancake breakfast March 12th. 

 

The First Degree shown on the calendar as March 14 has been changed to the 2nd meeting night March 21.

 

 

9. READING OF BILLS AND CORRESPONDENCE:

 

We received an Adopt A Highway Permit Application which needs to be completed and returned in order to renew our permit.

 

We received a letter from the Lamb Center thanking us for the pancakes, eggs, milk, syrup and other supplies we provided them.

 

We received a letter from Phases of Womanhood asking for our prayers and financial support for their Womanhood Conference on March 4th.

 

We received a letter from Focus thanking us for our 2005 contribution of $300 and reminding us that they have expanded to 6 new campuses this school year and would appreciate any additional support we could offer.

            Br Restivo mentioned that Fr. Bastiva in charge of vocations and has several events upcoming.

Br. Molinelli reported that:

 

KOVAR – Time to schedule an open day for tootsie roll drive for KOVAR.  Dates are April 20 to 23. Scott Leitch has lead.

Arthritis Walk – Need captain to lead KoC 8600 team to solicit funds and walkers to support brother Knights already in Regional effort. Phone tree will be mobilized for this effort if requested by captain.

 

 

* Still need 2 people to man phones for projects.  Let Gene know if you can be one of 20 knights to call 20 members to staff up different projects.

Br. Lynch reported on KOVAR.  We may be able to use Food Lion and could use another Captain.

 

Br. Restivo reported on upcoming Third Degree Cerimony.

No spaghetti dinner in March.

GN Hovan mentioned a Spring Golf outing with proceeds going to Marian Homes.

 

 

18. DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT:

 

Br. Mike Poumade mentioned Br. Curran at a degree ceremony tonight.  Also said he was glad to be here for Chili night.

 

Extended appreciation for $1,700 to help support the cubbies for hurricane relief.

 

Discussed March for Life last month and Day of the Unborn Child coming up (March 5th).

 

Second Degree tomorrow in Dale City and Third Degree upcoming shortly thereafter.

 

 

19. REPORT OF THE 4TH DEGREE:

20. FIELD AGENT REPORT:  Br. Jones - NONE

 

 

 

21. GOOD OF THE ORDER:  .

PRAYERS WERE OFFERED FOR CONTINUED RECOVERY AND GOOD HEALTH FOR AILING BROTHERS, WIVES AND FAMILIES.  WE PRAY FOR THE POPE AND ALL PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, THAT THEY MAY BE REVITALIZED IN THEIR MINISTRIES.  PRAYERS FOR THOSE WHO LEAD AND SERVE IN THE MILITARY AT HOME AND ABROAD.  PRAYERS WERE OFFERED FOR THE SOULS OF DECEASED BROTHERS, THEIR FAMILIES AND FOR MEMBERS OF BROTHERS’ FAMILIES..

Br. Obuchowski mentioned brothers who worked on the Polish night, especially Steve and Sam Schaffer (Sam made 100+ stuffed cabbage).  Due to the hard work of them and many others we were successful.  The amount of food that was prepared and eaten was mind boggling.
