Sir Knights: A Color Corps Certification is scheduled for Saturday February 25, 2012 at Providence Hall, Father Walter F Malloy Assembly #1894 meeting place on the campus of St Leo the Great Parish, 3700 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA.  All Sir Knights who participate in Color Corps activities (parades, Mass Honor Guards, wakes, funerals, etc.) require certification at least every two years.  The "uniform" includes chapeau, white gloves, service baldric and sword.  The new Color Corps combined pin will be provided for those who do not already have one.  Loaner chapeaus, service baldrics and swords will be available for the certification.

8:30 AM -- Coffee, Donuts and Bagels
9:00 AM - Noon -- Color Corps Certification
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM -- Color Corps Commander Certification

The Annual Washington Birthday Parade in Alexandria, VA, kicks off on Monday Feb 20 at 1:00 PM and follows the route shown at http://www.washingtonbirthday.net/parade/maps-assembly-information/parade-route.

The Virginia Sir Knights are again invited to participate, and we are looking for a LARGE turnout from Father Malloy Assembly, to join the host Potomac Assembly.

Even if you are unable to march, lining the streets to cheer for the Sir Knights as they pass is a BIG morale booster!  Please consider making this part of your Washington's Birthday holiday celebration.

Participants with full regalia are asked to meet no later than 11:00 AM at St. Mary's School cafeteria located in the basement for coffee and doughnuts. Participants may park on the school grounds. St Mary's School grounds are most easily accessed from South Royal St, Alexandria near the corner with Green St.  (I-495 to Richmond Highway (Route 1) North, then right at Franklin St to S Royal St).  All participants will walk to the starting point depending on parade position. A hot lunch will be served at the school after the parade.  Spare regalia will be available for those who need it.
